Debbie Mc Daniel of Mc Alester, Okla., was disfellowshipped by her Jehovah’s Witness congregation twice: once in 1987 for porneia, a biblical term for sexual acts deemed immoral, and again 2012 for being a lesbian. – In the summer of 2012, the elders in Debbie Mc Daniel’s congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses expelled her for having a sexual relationship with a woman.
They announced her punishment to the congregation and notified the organization’s headquarters in New York.
